Attend benefits Wine & Wishes OCTOBER 12 | PARK HYATT AVIARA RESORT & SPA Make-A-Wish San Diego presents its 2024 Wine & Wishes "Stars that Shine" Gala to raise funds to grant wishes for kids facing critical illnesses in the community. A wish creates hope, which can be a game changer for a child dealing with illness. Make-A-Wish San Diego Board Chair Lisa Paul-Hill, and event chairs Dai and Eric Logan are leading the charge for this year's event, which will feature a special selection of California wines, a live auction featuring exclusive and priceless experiences, and an uplifting program showcasing the impact of wishes in the community. Wish kids are the inspiration behind the event where they will mingle and share their wish stories with guests. sandiego.wish.org/wine River Valley Fest OCTOBER 13 | HILTON SAN DIEGO DEL MAR Funds raised at the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy's 15th Annual River Valley Fest will allow the Conservancy to continue its role in making connections within the San Dieguito River Valley and watershed. During nearly four decades of dedicated work, the nonprofit has turned the vision of the 92,000-acre San Dieguito River Park, and its 71-mile-long Coast to Crest Trail from Del Mar to Volcan Mountain, into a thriving reality. Support from hundreds of passionate members is the driving force behind the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy. Together with the San Dieguito River Park Joint Powers Authority, fellow nonprofits, community members, landowners, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders, the Conservancy is on a mission to preserve natural resources, foster education, and provide diverse recreational opportunities across the San Dieguito River watershed. sdrvc.org Starry Starry Night OCTOBER 19 | THE RADY SHELL AT JACOBS PARK Voices for Children, along with honorary chairs, The Sullivan Family — Katie and Dan Sullivan, Sarah Houghton, Megan Delgado, and Lindsay Estrada — will host a spectacular evening under the stars to support children living in San Diego County foster care and the life-changing advocacy of Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers. CBS 8's Neda Iranpour will emcee the event, featuring an exquisite dining experience, inspirational stories from the CASA program, the first-ever CASA Lifetime Achievement award presentation, an exhilarating live auction, and much more. This year, the organization will recognize the exceptional contributions of VFC's founder and longest-serving CASA volunteer, Kathryn Ashworth, Esq. A resident of Point Loma, she has been a steadfast advocate for Voices for Children for more than 43 years, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the children the organization serves. Proceeds from Starry Starry Night will advance Voice for Children's mission of providing a CASA to every child in foster care who needs one. voicesforchildrenssn.org FACE Foundation's 13th Annual Dog-Friendly Golf Tournament OCTOBER 14 | FAIRBANKS RANCH COUNTRY CLUB The FACE Foundation's unique tournament allows players to enjoy a day of golf with their furry friends followed by dinner, drinks, an exclusive auction, exciting awards ceremony, and more — all to support FACE's lifesaving programs. Players will enjoy a friendly and competitive round of golf with their foursome as well as on-course games including a Hole in One contest. Following the tournament, players are invited to a special "Yappy Hour" awards ceremony and dinner. The event will directly benefit pets facing economic euthanasia, a reality that occurs when families are unable to afford life-saving treatment for their critically injured or ill pet. FACE is proud to be there to provide financial assistance and resources to families in need of a helping hand during these veterinary emergencies. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, FACE has saved more than 4,402 lives to date. bit.ly/FACE-GolfReg24 Dustin and Katie Cano with Suzanne and Jon Husby Udo and Aleida Wahn with Dwight Worden at last year's event Larry Spitcaufsky, Bart Cohen, Sam Adondakis, and Ira Robb with Gunner and Rica WINE & WISHES: PHOTO BY VINCENT ANDRUNAS RIVER VALLEY FEST: PHOTO BY JENNIFER NELSON FACE FOUNDATION: PHOTO BY RICH SOUBLET PHOTOGRAPHY ranchandcoast.com 46 SEPTEMBER 2024 RANCH & COAST MAGAZINE
