It allowed us freedom that otherwise we wouldn't have had," says Brett Wheeless, who founded Wheeless Fitness together with his wife, Chelsey. "Whether it's hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro or playing in pickleball tournaments, the confidence that we can go anywhere, experience anything, knowing our bodies are up to the task — that's something you can't take away. at freedom is what we strive for with all our clients." e couple launched Wheeless Fitness in August 2020, building home gyms during the pandemic, offering training online, and serving clients through any means necessary. "We are thrilled to have set our home base here in Del Mar!" Brett says. "[It's] the quiet confidence of the people here and the close community. Folks from all over come here to plant roots and we look out for one another. We're truly blessed to be here." Both Brett and Chelsey have extensive backgrounds in their respective areas of expertise. Brett played rugby and soccer at Point Loma Nazarene University and has worked alongside professional athletes and Special Forces military operators, gaining thorough and applicable knowledge of the human body. Chelsey, a former collegiate and professional athlete, knows firsthand the importance of living pain-free, having dealt with numerous sports injuries herself, and holds a degree in kinesiology. She is passionate about helping clients feel their best and obtain the highest level of health. But, they say what sets them apart is the relationship and commitment they have with their clients, as well as their results. "While we have worked with Navy SEALs and professional athletes, professional businessmen and women have been our specialty," says Brett. "e transparency, feedback, and accountability we provide allows our clients to have tremendous success achieving their health and fitness goals." Wheeless Fitness' offerings include in-person and virtual training, corporate wellness programs, and nutrition planning. "Training is about people, and nutrition is about science. As we all know, the world of nutrition can be a bit overwhelming and unfortunately there are no silver bullet 'best diet' secrets to the perfect body, because everyone's body and background is different. Fitness and nutrition go hand in hand, as movement changes how our body stores and uses nutrients," explains Brett. "Ultimately, it boils down to feeling great, performing well, and living longer. We have found success with our clients through individualized nutrition planning — education, tools and tips, meal service — based on where they are at in life." "You're only one workout away from a good mood," he proclaims. wheelessfitness.com MIA PARK Focus health ranchandcoast.com 58 JULY 2024 RANCH & COAST MAGAZINE Brett Wheeless
